surprisingly boring

Saturday, July 19th, 2008

Despite having a newborn around the house, there’s not really much worth talking about. At least, nothing non-babywise. For the time being I plan on keeping that on the other site. Since I’m still home on maternity leave, baby is all I do right now.

A squirrel has taken interest in our deck because of the bird feeder. Normally I would try to keep him away but Hermione and Renton are ecstatic every time he shows up. He’s not a shy bugger, either.

Here he is cooling his nuts:

He lounged like that for quite a while. Sometimes he runs smack into the back door. That gets the cats running.

When the cats aren’t running, they’re lounging:

Renton looks dead.

Hermione’s worst nightmare

Saturday, July 5th, 2008

Something cuter than Hermione has arrived in our household: our daughter, Lydia, entered the world on June 23rd, 2008 at 8:29 p.m., weighing 6 pounds and eleven ounces and measuring at 19 1/2 inches long.

You can read her story here, from when we found out she was coming to her arrival.

And, of course, her every move will be captured.

And contrary to this post’s title, Hermione really is fine. So is Renton, for that matter. As long as whoever is holding Lydia doesn’t mind a Hermione in their lap, the cats are content.
